Face Reality. There Are Political Prisoners in the USA

Title

Face Reality. There Are Political Prisoners in the USA

Description

Under the apartheid system in South Africa, many opponents were taken into police custody. They could be held for months or even years, legally, without being charged. Many people across the world protested this practice, but this poster reminds viewers that there were also people incarcerated who might be considered political prisoners in the United States. Most of the people on this poster were imprisoned for their work for minority nationalist groups, like the Black Panthers, the Black Liberation Army, or Puerto Rican nationalist/independence movements.
